Renaming MP3 Files With The Wizard
MP3 Files generally contain information called an ID3 tag, this information contains approximately 9 sets of information that can be helpful in automatically naming a file. The wizard only uses a couple of these pieces of information.
To start, select the file name format you desire from the drop down list. Notice that as you change your selection, the preview box below updates to show how the files will look with this format.
You may notice that some files contain strings like %Artist% in the new file name. This is because that information is not contained in the MP3 file. Do not worry, once you click finish you will be presented with a complete preview screen that will allow you to choose to rename partial matches or not. By default incomplete files will not be renamed.
